Beautiful view nestled along Little Wall Lake sets the newly  constructed single story Cabin.  This charming cabin sleeps up to 8 persons with two full bedrooms, a 3/4 bath, full kitchen, living room,  heat and air  conditioning, televisions.  One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has a queen bed and full size bed with twin bunk.  There is a full-size sofa sleeper in the living room. WIFI and television with cable TV is available.

The Lakeside Cabin features a large covered deck overlooking picturesque Lake.  A fire ring and charcoal grill sit adjacent to the cabin enhancing the private cabin picnic area.  Throughout the Park you will find wooded hiking trails, our swimming beach, fantastic lake for boating, skiing, fishing and a playground.   Adding to the considerable recreation opportunities, Little Wall Lake is used for ice fishing and water fowl hunting.

  • Lawn chairs (cabin furniture not allowed outside cabin) 
  • Firewood (available for purchase in campground also)

CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY:

There is no refund.  Please review this policy prior to purchasing your facility reservation.  Please understand that at the time of booking your reservation, you immediately prohibit other people from reserving & utilizing this facility - they therefore go elsewhere to locate a facility for that date.  

Reservations can be rescheduled up to 12 months from the original reservation date, so you will have a credit for 12 months and will be issued a code to use for your future online reservation. Cancellations or changes must be done 15 days in advance of rental. 

We will observe a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee policy with the following exceptions:

  • Accident, serious injury or death of an immediate family member.
  • Travel conditions where a substantial risk is required in order to travel such as a winter storm where a travel advisory has been issued.
  • We are unable to provide your facility (or like facility) in operable condition for the date of your event

SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO CANCEL A RESERVATION, YOU WILL FORFEIT 100% OF ALL RESERVATION FEES PAID.  Cancellations cannot be done online.  They must be made by calling the Conservation Office at (515) 832-9570 or email hccb@wmtel.net

With over 4000 acres of state and county public hunting grounds in Hamilton County the Sunset Cabin at Little Wall Lake Park provides the perfect base for your Iowa Hunting Expedition.  Booking the Cabin puts you within 8 miles from our 417 acre Bauer Slough Public Hunting and surrounded by about 4000 acres of State & County Public Hunting Grounds all in Hamilton County!

  • No Hunting allowed within Little Wall Lake Park
  • Hunting is allowed on the lake.
  • No pets inside the cabin 
  • You may transport your unloaded weapons in the park
  • 2 night minimum stay required    

Fees

FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION.

Effective January 1, 2023  County Hotel/Motel TAX will increase from 5% to 7%. 

There is also a fee of a 5% statewide Hotel/Motel Consumer's Use Tax imposed on the rental of recreational cabins, plus a 7% Hamilton County hotel/motel tax for a total of 12% tax

Peak Season - May 1 - October 31

  • Weekdays (Sun-Thurs)      $140/night plus $200 deposit
  • Weekends (Fri-Sat)            $150/night plus $200 deposit
  • Minimum of two nights required

Off-Season - November 1 - April 30

  • $100/night plus $200 deposit

Cabin rental must be in the name of a person 21 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation.

There are NO DISCOUNTS for youth groups, seniors or multiple reservations.

DEPOSIT REQUIRED: This facility requires that an additional deposit check in the amount of $200.00 be mailed to the Conservation Office no later than two weeks from the date you made your reservation. This deposit is refundable as long as there is no damage and cleaning has been completed as posted on the refrigerator.  It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that this deposit is provided on time.  Deposits for this facility should be mailed to:

The Hamilton County Conservation Board is located in central Iowa and manages 19 individual parks, wildlife areas, and river accesses - collectively encompassing over 2,000 acres. In addition, several major creeks and the Boone River flow through the county providing numerous water recreation opportunities.
