University 40 Cabin

FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED AT THE TIME THE RESERVATION IS MADE.

University 40 Cabin is the first and only cabin located at University 40. The cabin itself is situated on a small hill and overlooks the bottom part of the Cedar Creek. The park itself offers a playground, large lawn space for games and activities, and a few large shelter houses. The cabin features one bunk bed that comfortably sleeps 4 people (2 people per bunk.), a mini-fridge, small table, and ac/heat. Accompanying this charming cabin is an outdoor fire ring and picnic table.

PETS & SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE CABINS

Reservations must be made AT LEAST 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE

DAMAGE / CLEANING DEPOSIT - $200 Refundable - in addition to the rental fee

Renter will need to bring:

• Complete linens, blankets, sleeping bags and pillows. (2 full sized bed sheets)
• Food and beverages
• Dishware, pots, and pans
• Lawn chairs (cabin furniture not allowed outside cabin) 

·         Items renters may want to bring include lawn chairs, flashlights, and games.

Pet Policy: As a friendly reminder, all Cabins offered by the Calhoun County Conservation Board are animal free cabins. If an animal is seen entering and exiting the cabins, the reserving party will be asked to leave regardless of whether the animal is theirs or a visitors. If a reserving party is asked to leave, a refund will not be issued. 

Smoking Policy: NO SMOKING

Fees

FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION. 

*NEW* Effective January 1, 2023  County Hotel/Motel TAX will increase from 0% to 7%. 

There is now a fee of a 5% statewide Hotel/Motel Consumer's Use Tax imposed on the rental of recreational cabins, plus a 7% Calhoun County hotel/motel tax for a total of 12% tax. This will be pulled from the $50a night charge for the cabin.

Peak Season – April - Second week in November

• Weekdays (Sun-Thurs)                                          $30/night plus $200 deposit
• Weekends (Fri-Sat)                                                $30/night plus $200 deposit
• Minimum of two nights required

Off-Season – Second week in November - March 

• Closed

Cabin rental must be in the name of a person 21 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation.

There are NO DISCOUNTS for youth groups, seniors or multiple reservations.

*NEW* DEPOSIT REQUIRED: This facility requires that an additional deposit check in the amount of $200.00 be mailed to the Conservation Office no later than two weeks from the date you made your reservation. This deposit is refundable if there is no damage and cleaning has been completed as posted. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that this deposit is provided on time.  Deposits for this facility should be mailed to:

Hours of Operation & Seasons

• Park hours are 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.
• Cabins are open during the park season
• Check-in time:   4:00 pm - no earlier
• Check-out time:  10:00 am - no later
• Renters must have the facility and area cleaned and exited by scheduled check-out time.

• Keg beer is prohibited
• Pets are prohibited inside the cabin

• Clean-up of facility and area must be completed no later than scheduled check-out time.
