The Muscatine County Conservation Board is located in southeast Iowa, with the Mississippi River bordering the county on the east, and the Cedar River meandering through the center of the county. The Muscatine County Conservation Board maintains 11 areas totaling 1755 acres. These areas include cabins, campgrounds, an environmental learning center, river accesses, hiking/biking trails, wildlife areas, lakes, wetlands, and prairies.

The mission of the Muscatine County Conservation Board is to
- preserve and enhance natural areas and resources in Muscatine County for the use and benefit of the community
- preserve sufficient natural habitats in Muscatine County
- ensure the survival of native plants and animals
- acquire, develop and manage land for public hunting, fishing, camping and recreation
- promote public appreciation and responsibility for the environment through education
