Harrison County Conservation Board is located in the beautiful Loess Hills of western Iowa! There are 18 park and wildlife areas with almost 1,800 acres for outdoor recreation like camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, wildlife watching, picnicking and boating. We’re just an hour from Omaha and surrounding attractions including the Harrison County Historical Village and Iowa Welcome Center, Loess Hills State Forest/Brent S. Olson Memorial Visitor Center, and DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge. There’s something for everyone!

 

ATTENTION: THE NEW WILLOW LAKE NATURE CENTER IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

 

The NEW Willow Lake Nature Center at the Willow Lake Recreation Area near Woodbine is now open to the public. Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 p.m. and until Wednesday until 6 p.m.; Sundays in September and October, 12-4 pm. The exhibit hall features interactive displays about watersheds, water, wildlife, and habitats-great for all ages!

 

ATTENTION: AS OF SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2023, HUNTING IS NO LONGER ALLOWED AT THE WILLOW LAKE RECREATION AREA.
