Smithtown Church is the last remaining building of the town of Burgess, Iowa. It was built in 1874 is on the National Historic Register. Today, renovations of the Church are being made by the Smithtown Church Association in cooperation with the Clinton County Conservation Board. The church may be rented for events such as weddings, baptisms, funerals and family reunions. Heating and air conditioning have been added to the church for year round comfort. 


Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 09:00 AM and check-out is before 09:00 PM.

Location Smithtown Church is located at 1223 125th Street, Lost Naiton, Iowa 52254. It is approximately 2 miles west, then 2 miles north of Lost Nation or 2 miles south of Eden Valley Park.

Smithtown Church has been updated with electricity, heat and air conditioning. There is no running water on site. Pets are prohibited in the church. 

Fees

The church may be rented for $100/day. In addition, a $100 damage and cleanup deposit is also required. Deposits will be refunded in whole if there is no damage to the facilities and the church is cleaned to the condition in which it was prior to your event. The deposit is not to be construed as a limit of liability for cleanup costs or damage to county property. The Clinton County Conservation Board may take any legal action necessary to recover additional damages.


Hours of Operation & Seasons

Facilities are available between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. All visitors and guests must leave the church grounds by no later than 10:00 pm.
