Discover Three Bridges County Park in Marshalltown

Three Bridges County Park was the first county park in Marshall County acquired in November of 1960.  The 13 acre park is mostly bottomland timber with limestone bluffs along the  eastern section of the park.  On the north-side of the park you will find access to the Iowa River.

Rich in beauty and historical value Three Bridges park was the sight for the first rock quarry in Marshall County.  The rock that adorns the current Marshall County Courthouse was mined at Three Bridges.  Also present at this park is the foundation from an early grist mill on the north edge of the park area.  Last but not least you will find the oldest originally placed wagon bridge in Marshall County.  Built in 1885 the Quarry Bridge was constructed out of wrought and cast iron and cost Marshall County $3,295.  In May of 1998 the Quarry Bridge was placed on National Register of Historic Places.
