Discover Carney Marsh in Ankeny

This 40-acre wildlife area offers prime wildlife habitat in one of the most rapidly developing areas of Polk County. Birding is a popular activity among marsh visitors. Seasonal birds frequent the marsh, including herons, yellow-headed and red-winged blackbirds, yellow-throated warblers, and various waterfowl.

The Gay Lea Wilson Trail now passes along the east side of Carney Marsh.
